An engaging opening event focused on connection, conversation, and community. Meet local composer Libby Larsen, who will create a new musical piece inspired by the discussions at this gathering and others in this year-long series!
The event will feature music by Libby Larsen, including Bee Navigation, Tarantella for Our Times, and Song Without Words, performed by musicians Kathryn Ananda-Owens (piano), Ray Shows (violin), and Aileen Razey (clarinet). Join the conversation led by John Coy with Libby Larsen and Denise Von Glahn, exploring the influences of Larsen's identity that show within her musical compositions. Stay for informal discussions and refreshments, sharing your own stories about life and nature in Minnesota, which will inspire the new work.
