Session Title:  Single Reeds: Double Pedagogy

Session Description:  While clarinet and saxophone fundamental techniques can seem similar, nuanced pedagogy on each instrument can help students feel successful in achieving a characteristic tone and approach to playing. St. Olaf College clarinet and saxophone faculty share their approach to shaping embouchure, tongue position, articulation, and equipment choices on their respective instruments. This session offers tools to enhance technical and musical proficiency of single reed students, from beginner to advanced.
